Principal Residence Exemption (P.R.E.)

All homeowners, especially new ones should check to make sure you are receiving the Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption” (P.R.E.).  In order to qualify for your tax exemption, you must own and occupy your residence of the current tax year by June 1st for Summer and November 1st for Winter.  By receiving the Principal Residence Exemption, your tax bill should read:  P.R.E. %: 100.0000.  If you are not receiving this exemption and this is your principal residence, you may file an affidavit at the Township Offices via Township Assessor.  

Principal Residence Exemption: Check your tax bill to make sure you are receiving the Principal Residence Exemption if you qualify.
