Message from the Township Supervisor

The Courtland Township Board approved a joint contract with Algoma Township to provide additional police resources through the Kent County Sheriff's Office. Beginning in January 2024, there will be a dedicated officer that will be roaming Courtland and Algoma from 7am to 7pm every day. Providing essential services is one of the Township responsibilities and we believe that investing in additional resources will improve the safety of our residents. By increasing the law enforcement presence we hope to deter some crimes and allow for more follow up to be done in solving the ones that have occurred. We are committed to partnering with our neighboring townships where possible and with the Kent County Sheriff's Office to continue building on the excellent service they have provided in the past.
